Please be sensible folks

Please be sensible folks as I have noticed that some people are sharing email addresses and even home addresses on the wall feature of the my page. These pages are public in other words anyone on the internet can see them. Please look at point 11 on the guidelines as it is spelled out very clearly there.

Publishing your home address is a very silly thing to do and in some cases could be dangerous. If you want to exchange such information send someone a private message.

So please be sensible folks

Please report scammers and spammers

As the site gets larger we are bound to have the odd spammer or scammer get through the doors.

Please if you notice any suspect behaviour or suspect anyone scamming or notice spam please report it to me. I have zero tolerance for any of it and will suspend or ban people who are not legitimate.  I have worked too hard to build this site to see it spoilt. Members do have to inform me however.  If it is spam tell where it is on the site and if it is a scammer send me a copy of the email so I have proof before I hit that ban button.

Thanks!

We have a new tutorial on how to make decorative felt balls is kindly written, photographed and supplied by Stitchin Fingers Member Grace Lister.

(Follow the link or go to the tutorials tab)

How to put a photo on the forum or group comment walls

I have just added a small “How to” article on how to put a photo up on the comment walls of either the the forums or in the groups.

In case people are not aware of it there are various how to articles under the notes tab.

I hope that this is easier for folks and promotes more chat as if you can show someone something it is easier than trying to describe what you have done or even linking to it.

Just make sure in your enthusiasm to share that you only use your own photos and don’t forget to observe copyright

A new group Stitch Junkies

We have a new group Stitch Junkies for people using Sharon B’s Stitch files to build a personal resource file.

The Stitch Files are worksheets are designed  to build a hand embroiderer’s resource file and where released yesterday. The files are part stitch dictionary, part inspiration, part storage format, part stimulus to explore new stitches, part lesson and part organisation method.

The group is a place to share photos, discuss how we are using and building our own resource files from the modules, and a free form stitch along.
